Billie Holiday: The Life & Artistry of Lady Day is a half-hour biography made by uncredited sources. Grainy film clips, random archive footage, still press photos, and vintage promotional materials are used to highlight the major events in the singer's career. Her story is narrated by an anonymous British voice-over actor who seems to take on a condescending tone when referring to her constant battles with drug addiction, criminal activity, and abusive relationships. Even with the brief running time, the program does contain live performance footage of Holiday singing "God Bless the Child," "Strange Fruit," and "What a Little Moonlight Can Do." All Movie Guide
